Overview
Where Style Meets Preservation Mat boards do more than just make your frame look good — they create a buffer zone between the glass and your artwork, prevent damage, and add a sense of depth that enhances visual appeal. Whether you're framing fine art, a cherished memory, or a certificate, the right mat board elevates the experience.
Types & Styles
Single Mat
A straightforward, clean border. Perfect for modern and minimalist aesthetics, small frames, or when you want all eyes on the artwork.
Double Mat
Adds an inner colored layer beneath the top mat. A subtle peek of contrast gives the frame more definition, richness, and professional finish.
Triple Mat
For maximum depth and drama. Often used in museum-style or luxury frames, especially when highlighting something truly special.
Float Mat
Instead of sitting beneath the mat, your artwork is mounted on top — creating shadows and a ‘floating’ visual. Great for abstract, modern, or small-format pieces.
V-Groove Mat
A thin bevel cut into the top mat reveals a decorative line. Adds a touch of handcrafted sophistication without overpowering the work.
French Mat
A traditional look that includes hand-drawn lines, gold leaf, or watercolor accents. This refined style is reserved for historic prints, documents, or classical art.
Oversized Mat
Extends beyond the usual 1–2" margin. This technique creates breathing space, highlights the art’s importance, and gives the frame a gallery-style impact.
Reverse Bevel
The cut edges angle inward instead of outward, subtly drawing the viewer’s eye into the artwork — ideal for clean, architectural, or design-forward spaces.
